Provo Friends in St. George

In the beginning of June, some of my good friends from high school decided to road trip down to see me and begin the first of our many adventures together. Their arrival in town was far from perfect; Sarah got a ticket for speeding just outside of town from one of our Cedar City nazis and we were all up til after 3:30 in the morning trying to get their sleeping arrangements worked out (in the meantine we woke up my annoying roomate). However, the rest of the weekend was like something straight out of Mary Poppins. Practically perfect in every way. These pictures tell our tale in no particular order....

CEDAR BREAKS
Of course, me and my little schemes, wanted to get up to Cedar Breaks in time to see the sunset, because I've heard it's amazing. Well, we got up there in time, but I missed the perfect sunset overlook picture because I was too impatient to wait at one overlook and had to take the just too long drive to the next overlook. Who knew the sunset lasts only about 30 seconds!? So, Antonio got a few pretty pictures of the setting sun, but not with the famous amphitheater in the background... Oh well. Maybe next time. It was only 40 degrees outside, and our light jackets were not doing justice. We drove down the mountain a little ways and had a campfire at Woods Ranch. Our fire was pretty wimpy, but it was still big enough to roast us some weinies and s'mores.

We saw loads of deer this trip! This was like a whole herd lined up right by the road....

I love how Antonio caught the moon at the very top of this one.

Brett trying to make sure no one sees him take a pee.

Here's our sunset. I guess it's not so bad after all.

Aww...

I love these ones!!!

SNOW CANYON

The first day, our itinerary consisted of going to St. George to see Snow Canyon. Since we didn't come very prepared, we were only able to go into one little cave a little bit to get some pictures. That didn't stop us from having a good time, though. Natalie (aka Mae Mae), Sarah's little girl, got a huge kick out of playing in the red sand with me up in a little nook in the slot canyon. She was quite the explorer! And just driving by all the big, beautiful, red mountains was amazing! After that we were hot and tired, so we ate at Chilis then basically went home to bed. One day of the trip, Brett had to work, but me, Sarah, Kyle, Antonio and Natalie went back to Snow Canyon, this time, prepared. We brought flashlights, frozen water, glow sticks and food. Some of these pictures are of us in the big cave we explored.

Me doing some serious cave climbing

Just explorin a little....

Brett just always has to be a goof. There is no avoiding it.

The pretty red mountains! Love it!!

Here's one of our little cave openings.

Not a very good picture of heading into a tunnel in the cave.

Antonio looks hardcore with his headlamp... :-)

Brett and Mae Mae in the slot canyon.

Us playing in the sand.

ST. GEORGE TEMPLE

Before the gang (minus Brett) continued our trek to the caves, we stopped by the temple to get some pictures. It was a perfect Sunday morning, and the grounds had the most amazing spirit! We got some beautiful pictures.

Here is Mae Mae with "Oolie Oolio's" glasses, after she had tried putting them on "Totter". SO CUTE!

Here is an awesome one Antonio got of the fountains in the front.

I'll go inside someday....
